JOHN W. TUMELTY: I have over 30 years criminal law experience. I spent several years as a prosecutor, both as a state prosecutor and then as an assistant county prosecutor. And now for about 15 years, I’ve been on the defense side. A lot of my clients are from out of state. They come down the shore. They go to Atlantic City. And they get into some kind of trouble. And they have to hire a lawyer. It’s important for them to hire a local lawyer who knows the local courts and the local prosecutors because right from the beginning that gives me an advantage in putting a defense together for my client. I’m certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a certified criminal trial attorney. There’s somewhere in the ballpark of 45,000 attorneys in the state of New Jersey.

But less than two percent are certified by the state Supreme Court to be a certified trial attorney. That sets me apart from a lot of other attorneys who are doing criminal defense work. My goal is to get you through this without having a criminal record or if it’s a DWI case without losing your license. So we’re going to collect whatever evidence we need to gather. We’re going to interview whatever witnesses that we need to take statements from.

And we’re going to put together a defense that gives you the best possible shot of beating these charges and coming out of this in good shape.
