3 New Jersey juveniles facing serious charges tied to drug bust

Three juveniles in New Jersey are currently facing some serious allegations related to possessing, possessing with the intent to distribute and maintaining a crack cocaine manufacturing facility. All of these drug charges can end up having a serious impact on the rest of these young peoples’ lives.

In looking at what happened, the three juveniles were among six arrested after Toms River police executed a “no knock” search warrant at a home in Toms River, New Jersey. A “no knock” search warrant is typically when authorities enter a home without needing immediate prior notification to those inside. In many cases, police will just announce themselves right before forcefully coming into the property.

Police busted into this home after a month-long investigation was conducted by Toms River authorities.

Once inside the home, police found recently cooked cocaine, 29 wax folds of heroin, seven pills of oxycodone, more than 10 grams of PCP and less than 50 grams of marijuana. In addition to the drugs and paraphernalia, that police also found, $1,408 was seized from the home.

The three adults — between the ages of 20 and 21 years old — were arrested and brought to jail. Their charges include:

  • Possession of PCP
  • Possession with intent to distribute PCP over 10 grams
  • Possession with intent to distribute PCP within 500 feet of a public park
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of 29 wax folds of heroin
  • Possession of cocaine
  • Possession with intent to distribute under a half ounce of cocaine
  • Maintaining a crack cocaine manufacturing facility

As one can see, this is quite the extensive list of charges. The judge set the bail for the two 20 year olds at $250,000 with no 10 percent option. The 21-year-old’s bail was set for $15,000, again, with no 10 percent option.

The juveniles are facing the same charges as the adults, except for the marijuana and heroin possession charges.

In this case, not only where these six people probably being watched by authorities without even realizing it, but the juveniles really could find themselves stuck with consequences for the rest of their lives due to any involvement they may have had in this alleged production and distribution bust.

When talking of similar cases, people should never assume that a judge will take it easy on a juvenile. Rather, it is better to build up a strong criminal defense prior to going to court.
